Eloise & James

I still can't believe my babies are here! They were 4 weeks old Tuesday.  I think I'm still in shock because it was so quick and sudden. My water broke at 11pm on a Monday and they were here less than 3 hours later (via c section).  I was 34 weeks 2 days, so they were immediately taken to the NICU after delivery. It was awful not being able to hold them right away. I had to wait until Tuesday afternoon to hold Eloise and couldn't hold James until Wednesday morning- due to them being hooked up to monitors and a CPAP machine.  I am so thankful that they are both healthy and home safe. James was in the NICU & progressive care unit for 8 days and Eloise for 17 days. So while they are 4 weeks old, I haven't even had both of them home for two weeks yet.

I am so thankful to my family and friends for all of their help. It was terrible coming home without my babies and I couldn't drive yet, so I couldn't go visit just anytime. But my friends and family went out of their way to make sure they took me to the hospital daily, whenever I wanted, to visit. Once James came home, my sister would either stay with him so I could see Eloise or visit Eloise extra for me since most days I could only see her for a few hours.

But now I get to spend all day (& night!) with them and I wouldn't change it at all. We are having the best time getting used to our new normal. I could stare at their cute faces all day...and pretty much do.  I am so lucky to all these two sweet peas all mine!

Now for a picture overload....

  2. They are so beautiful!! Seriously not everyone has good looking newborns but those two are precious! I am so happy that everyone is healthy and home. I hope the adjustment to twins is going well.

  3. I bet you are just over the moon happy that they are both here and now home! It's got to be the most surreal feeling of one minute they're in your belly and the next, they're born! So crazy to think you had them at 34 weeks. I mean that would be in 5 weeks for me! I can't imagine having a baby in 5 weeks but it's great to know that's more than possible and that the baby will be fine!

  5. They are both beautiful! My grandson was born at 34 and a half weeks, spent some time in the NICU, and is now a very healthy, walking, running, talking 16 month old. He also surprisingly has a very healthy immune system, and has never really been sick. Blessings to all of you!
