five on friday: june 26

Happy Friday!

one. Do you ever see something on Pinterest and have to have it?! I'm sure you do. For me, the issue is beauty products. I love to try a new dry shampoo, lip stick or nail color. Example- I saw this and really want to try this lip color. I have NO need for any lip sticks right now, but keep thinking about it.

I got so many compliments on my lip colour today, so I had to share! I LOVE @nyxcosmetics coral shade 'Antwerp' Soft Matte Lip Cream!! It goes on as a creamy lipstick, but dries to a soft, matte finish. One or two swipes are all you need for all day, bu

two. Dave & I saw Entourage last weekend and I loved it. I definitely think you had to have watched the show and enjoyed the show to appreciate the movie. I was a big fan of the show, I even named a fish in college Loyd because of my love for him. Be sure to stay until the very end (after some credits) so you don't miss a thing!

three. I'm working on planning my "maternity leave" now.  The website will stay up and any orders placed on it will ship within a week or so. But I won't be taking any custom orders or responding to requests/questions/etc. So I need a general email response to be able to send people. All of the stores will be filled with product for July & August starting next week!

four. We are trying to pick a paint color for the bedroom. Originally we weren't going to paint it and just leave it as is, which is a light blue. But decided if we are getting new furniture/decorating, we might as well go ahead and paint since we don't love the paint color.  Well our first options were a fail. Beth came over and we had the great idea that a muddy plum color would work. We also thought about a dark navy, but that wouldn't work with our doors which are Dragon's Breath. Well the muddy plums turned out pink! Thank goodness we got samples first.  Now I am thinking we might do Washboard by Ralph Lauren, as seen here:

This is actually the room and blog where I decided to paint all my doors Dragon's Breath when we moved in over 2 years ago.

bad lighting, but you can tell- PINK, not plum

fabrics for our new chair, bench and pillows!
five.  I'm getting a prenatal massage today and am SO excited! This will be my third one and I always enjoy them. I may even go ahead and book another one in a week or two.

Hope y'all have a great weekend! My plans are laying low and propping my swollen feet up as much as possible. I need as much rest as I can get!

Baby Thoughts:
I'm currently 33 weeks and 6 days aka 34 weeks this Saturday!

We had an ultrasound last Friday and got to see the sweet babies. She is 5lbs 6oz and he is 4lbs 14oz!  She finally turned and is more head down, he is still sideways on top though. I really thought we would get to schedule a day to be induced....but we didn't. For some (crazy) reason I just really thought I would pick a day and we would go in and I would have the babies. Well they won't induce me until July 24/25 (38 weeks) and there is a huge possibility I will have them before then.

It was then that I realized how terrified I am of going into labor! I am not scared about delivering or the pain. I'm scared of going into labor and not realizing it completely or having like 100 false alarms. Worried Dave won't answer his phone or that I won't be ready. Like my bag won't be packed or I'll want to shower and wash my hair, but won't have time. All really silly things.

It is really hard for me to do much of anything these days. I spend a lot of time sleeping or resting in bed or on the couch. I unfortunately am cancelling plans I wish I could keep because I just don't feel good and my legs/feet are HUGE and it hurts to walk.

Other Thoughts:
Construction on the addition is moving right along...hoping it will be done by July 18. Originally should have been done by July 1!

Trying to not make all of my thoughts revolve around the twins....that is a little hard...!

fashion wish list

These are all items that I would LOVE to purchase now...but I'm 33 weeks pregnant with twins and its just not going to work. So I hope some of these are still around (and on sale) after the babies are born!

friday five: june 19

one. I bought this kimono awhile back from Anthro after seeing it on a friend and LOVE it. I've worn it tons and lucky you, now its on sale!

two. I started packing my hospital bag! I know its a little early, but it is the last thing I want to think about. I can't imagine being in labor/in pain and trying to get Dave to find something I need or want. So far I have the necessities: dry shampoo, mascara and monogrammed onesies. :) I've been reading lots of blogs to see what people recommend, hope to finish it up in the next week or so.

three. Before my baby shower last week I went to Benefit to have my brows waxed. I had never been there before, but had heard good things. I also wanted to pick up a brow pencil or tint. They did a great job shaping my brows and I came home with the "gimme brows" in light. It is super easy to use and makes a big difference. I also got lashes put on after hearing what April had to say! I loved them. Perfect for a fun weekend and they lasted easily from Friday-Tuesday.

four. I've updated the sale section on Poppy Style! Lots of fun, very inexpensive jewelry. use sale for an additional 20% off!

five.  This is my first Father's Day without my dad. It has only been three months since he died, yet sometimes it feels like 3 days or 3 years. It is the craziest, saddest feeling. I miss him so, so much. But, I am excited to celebrate Dave this weekend as a soon to be Daddy. He is going to be the best! So, for me, everyone hug your dads extra tight this weekend and remember how special they are and how luck you are.

thoughts on thursday: june 18

I have so many thoughts racing through my head I don't even know where to start!

Construction on our addition (aka my dream office) is delayed...again. We were supposed to start dry walling this weekend and now probably can't start that until next Thursday! So frustrating, but can't be changed at this point. So now I am hoping for a miracle that gets this project done before the babies arrive. And it would take a miracle.

I have a summer intern and I am so thankful for her! She is so much fun to have around and has been a huge help. She may not even know it, but she is helping me keep my sanity!

People are SO NICE to pregnant women! For the most part, I dread leaving the house because I feel huge, my feet are swollen, its hot, my back hurts, etc...but when I do venture out, someone will most likely say something nice to me. And they have no idea that they just made my day.

We have a doctors appointment this Friday and I'm so excited to see the babies and know how big they are! They were measuring way ahead at the last ultrasound, so I'm assuming they probably still are. It is definitely starting to hurt some when they move.

I loved being pregnant with C, but this time....notsomuch.

Haha!! So true!
the office floor is covered in random beads I've dropped!

I can't believe the shark attacks that happened this week! I used to never be scared of the water. And in the past few years (as I have gotten older!) I have gotten more scared of the deep water. Now I guess I should be scared of the shallow water too!

Our new duvet came for the bedroom, the dresser is painted, the new mirror is in...but everything else is behind. I finally ordered the fabric for the accent pillows to be made. I have been waiting over two weeks for my upholstery guy to pick up the chair and bench. I'm debating calling someone else because I'm getting anxious!

I think that is enough random for today! Happy Thursday y'all!

guest bathroom plan

I think I mentioned that in the addition we will have a full guest bathroom so that down the road this room can be used as a bedroom. I have never redone a bathroom or designed a bathroom from scratch. I figured it was such a small and simple space I could easily do it. Well, it has definitely been more challenging than I thought! I kept seeing bathrooms I liked on Pinterest, but there was always something I wanted to change or that wouldn't work in our space.

Here are some bathrooms I loooooved:

Vanessa Francis Design

Crushing on everything about this bathroom from the subway tile, the timber ceiling, metal framed shower screen and vanity and the diagonal floor tile.

This is our "design" board:

Everything pictured is something we have bought or are buying for the bathroom. The shower is actually a steam shower and will have glass walls/door and subway tile for the walls and ceiling. We are doing a square marble tile for the bathroom floor- almost went with a hexagon tile. The hardware and accessories are all brass or acrylic. Fingers crossed it all looks as good as it does in my head!! I do have a plan for a pop of color, but am waiting until it is all done to add it in.

Last decision I need to make is which knobs to put on the vanity! I found these 4 at Anthropologie and can't decide. Any opinions?!

thoughts on thursday

My thoughts are really all over, but mainly in two areas...the twins and work. I can't keep my mind from racing!

I feel huge. This belly is getting bigger and bigger, heavier and heavier. By the end of the day I have to have my very swollen, puffy feet up and a heating pad on my back.  We are getting closer and closer to meeting them and I am so excited. What life will be like with the twins is my favorite thing to talk about with Dave.  But I am also incredibly overwhelmed. I have made a never ending list of things to do before the babies come...yikes!

I have a baby shower this weekend and can't wait!!! I get to celebrate these twins with lots of friends and am so lucky to have friends travelling into town for it too!

Work & Office:
Work has been super busy recently and I'm so thankful for that. I love what I do and love that I get to work from home on my own schedule. I plan to take a little time off for "maternity leave," but love knowing that I can just pop into my office anytime I get some creative energy.

Speaking of the office...we are still under construction and I somehow doubt it will be done before the twins come. Which is super stressful for me.  Beth and I have started making headway on decorating though, so we have a game plan. I just need the construction to move right along! I don't want to give too much away but will share these two items that I've ordered: L&G Rug and Ole Bull Art

Painted Desert Rug

Jennifer Moreman, Ole the Bull

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Animal Baby Shower

My mother in law, my sister's mother in law and a family friend hosted the sweetest shower honoring me and twins! I loved everything and it was so thoughtful of them to do.

The hit of the party was Gigi the giraffe that Dave's grandma and aunt got for us. I always wanted one as a kid, but never got one. I'm probably more excited about it than the babies will be!

The food was delicious!! We had watermelon, chicken salad in little pea pods, cucumber and cheese on toast, cheese and fruit, cupcakes and of course, animal crackers!

my three aunts, cousin, me and my sister! my two aunts on the far left each drove 4 hours to be there for me, it meant so much!

I kept waiting to post this until I had more pictures, but this what I had and as I find more I'll add them! I'm so thankful for everyone that celebrated with us. I have some very lucky babies!

Food cravings: Vanilla milkshakes and orange Gatorade

Anything making you queasy or sick: My nausea/throwing up has returned and I'm taking zofran again. But still not much I can eat. I was so sick I wasn't able to do the diabetes retest, so now they are just checking my blood sugar regularly.

carpal tunnel syndrome...

Wedding rings on or off? off

Looking forward to: meeting these babies! Getting everything on my to do list done!

I'm trying to take advantage of the times when I do feel good and get things done. It is not easy. I want to enjoy my last few weeks without kids and have fun with Dave, but I'm just so tired, sore and sick feeling.  I am treating myself regular pedicures though! And Dave makes the best vanilla milkshakes for me, I really appreciate them. I'm trying to keep my raging angry hormones in check...but doesn't always work out. So hopefully we can hang in there for next few weeks!

How precious is my sweet niece kissing her baby cousins? melt my heart
