grove park inn recap

We had the best little getaway at the Grove Park Inn last week!  It was my first time there, but definitely won't be my last.  When I travel places I like to know where to eat, suggestions on what to order and things to do.  So I thought I'd share all of that about our trip in case anyone is headed there soon.

Breakfast Buffet- You have to do the breakfast buffet at least once! It is incredible. Everything you can imagine- we're talking chocolate chip pancakes, fresh carrot juice, gluten free muffins, omelet station, cereals, etc.  Dave said it was his favorite meal!

Edison- We decided to each order a sandwich and share. I had the grilled cheese and he got the burger. It was the best grilled cheese ever! Served with a tomato soup type sauce for dipping- yummy. We also started with popcorn shrimp which I loved- it wasn't too heavy which was a pluc.

Vue 1913- My meal (trout) was completely overshadowed by the spaghetti squash it was served on! It was amazing, so much flavor. I have tried to make spaghetti squash 2-3 times now and it never turns out like this one did.

Sunset Terrace- This had a spectacular view.  I had my favorite meal here! I got the beet salad to start with and then Dave and I shared a steak and sides.  The salad was so delicious! We had the mac'n'cheese and creamed spinach for sides and I loved both.

Spa Café- We ate lunch here after our massages. I liked Dave's pick better than mine.  He got a blackened chicken Panini and I had the turkey club.  Both came with side salads there were tasty.

Farm Burger- We grabbed lunch here while wondering in downtown Asheville.  The burgers were great, the fries were amazing. Best French fries!

Make sure you go to the dueling piano bar in the Grove Park too! We did that our last night and it was really fun.  I also highly recommend the spa. The pools, massages, everything were perfect.
